31 Days:: A Giveaway!

(Update:  This giveaway is now closed!)

Yesterday, I told you that one of the ways you could save money on kitchen gadgets was to enter a giveaway.  Today, I'm pleased to announce that I am giving away some of my favorite kitchen tools!  They are...a brand-new Rada Cutlery Regular Paring Knife and a brand-new Rada Cutlery Vegetable Peeler (both with the black, stainless steel resin handle).

Rada Cutlery is an American company that uses all American materials to produce their knives and other kitchen tools.  Their kitchen tools are commonly sold as fundraisers for church and school groups, and can also be found at various flea markets.  In addition, you can order them direct from Rada.

A Giveaway...and a Survey

**Update:  This giveaway is now closed.**

Dear Readers,

I'm trying to decide what direction to go with this blog, and I need your help figuring it out :)  I'd love for you to spend a few minutes answering some questions.  To thank you for taking the time to answer my questions, I'm sponsoring a giveaway.

I love buying spices at the Shipshewana flea market.  They're cheap, and they're every bit as good as what you'd find at the grocery store.  My favorite spices to buy from the flea market are poppy seed and sesame seeds...because I use them a lot, and because they're rather expensive at Meijer (especially when you use tablespoons at a time!).  I know you'll like them just as much as I do, so I'm giving away THREE sets of spices.  Each set will contain one 4.5 oz jar of poppyseed and one 4.5 oz jar of sesame seeds.  (Both are completely sealed and unopened...don't worry!)

Winner of the Vidalia Chop Wizard Giveaway

I used Random.org's random number generator, and it picked comment #16.  That comment was posted by Sara, who said "I commented on the No-Bake Strawberry Dessert!"  Sara comments faithfully on almost every recipe she tries (at least, if this is the Sara I think it is!), so I'm happy that she won :)  I'm glad you liked the dessert, Sara...and congratulations on winning a useful and fun kitchen gadget!

Thanks to everyone for participating!

Happy Cooking!

In celebration of another milestone (30,000 hits), Cooking Up a Sale is giving away a Vidalia Chop Wizard!

Winner of the $10 Meijer Gift Card Giveaway

I used the "True Random Number Generator" over at www.random.org to pick the winner of the $10 gift card giveaway.  The number it generated was 10.  (Wow, 10s all around huh?)  The 10th comment was made by Michelle, who said "I commented on the English Muffin Bread".  Michelle happens to be my sister-in-law (I promise I was fair with this drawing!), but that's OK since I said family was eligible to enter :)  This is fitting anyway, because Michelle was one of the first people to become a follower of this blog.  She has also eaten or cooked almost all of the recipes on this site.  Michelle, congratulations, and thanks for your unfailing support of my little project over here!

Thanks to everyone for your comments and entries!  I plan to host more giveaways as the ad revenue becomes available!

Regarding the Giveaway...

Hi Everyone,

I had someone tell me today that they "felt bad" entering the $10 gift card giveaway because they didn't want to take $10 from me!  That's a really nice thought, and I realize I might have brought that on by saying "I'm trying to keep my grocery budget down too".  BUT...

The $10 gift card is not coming out of my own pocket!  You might have noticed that I've put a few ads on my blog...and I'm making a SMALL amount of money on those ads.  It's not going to make me rich, by any means, but it's enough to cover a few small giveaways like this once in awhile.

So, don't feel bad, and by all means, please enter :)  But remember, to enter, you MUST post your entry comments under the giveaway post.  In your comments (one per item completed), explain what you did to enter, and include your name.

Thanks!
Lisa

Celebrating 10,000 Hits with a Giveaway!

This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks to everyone for your entries and comments!  Check back for more giveaways soon!

Cooking Up A Sale reached a milestone today.  At least, I consider it a milestone!  As of today, there have been over 10,000 hits on this blog.  That doesn't mean 10,000 separate visits, but it DOES mean 10,000 clicks.  And I know some of you click on the same recipe more than once to double-check the ingredient list or the cooking instructions.  And some of those clicks are mine, testing out links and such.  But even so, I'm pretty excited!
So, in celebration of the 10,000 hits milestone, I am giving away a $10 Meijer gift card!  Sorry, not $10,000.  And not even $100!  Hey, I'm trying to keep my grocery bill down too :)  (By the way, if you win this but you don't live near a Meijer {thanks all you CA and IA readers!}, I'll give you a $10 gift card to the grocery store of your choice instead.)

Clarification on the Giveaway

OK, I'll try not to be bossy here, but I think some of you might have missed part of the giveaway instructions.  Sorry if I was not clear enough!

After you complete one of the seven "entry tasks",
you MUST comment on the giveaway post
and mention which task(s) you completed.  Some of you HAVE submitted a comment per the instructions, but I have also noticed a lot of people liking this blog on Facebook or joining the blog as followers, and then not posting a follow-up comment under the giveaway.  I DO appreciate the likes, subscriptions, recipe comments, and followers (feelin' the love!), but I'm guessing many of you are liking, subscribing, and following because you want to enter the giveaway.  I'm not trying to make things difficult for you, but per the giveaway instructions, you MUST post a comment under the original giveaway post to be included in the drawing.  This will ensure that all of the entries are in the same place...I don't want to miss anyone  :)

Thanks!
Lisa
