Strawberry Jello Salad

(This recipe was first posted in conjunction with the Meijer Ad Week of 3/4/12 - 3/10/12)

This fruity, fluffy salad comes together in no time, and is perfect as a side dish for pasta, burgers, or pizza.

Ingredients:
1 - 3oz box strawberry jello
1 - 8oz container whipped topping
2 - 6oz containers strawberry yogurt
2 cups fresh strawberries, washed, hulled, and sliced

Directions:
Stir jello into 1 1/2 cups water (3/4 cup hot, 3/4 cup cold).  Stir until all jello is dissolved.  Pour into a shallow pan and let gel completely, but stir occasionally so that the bottom doesn't get hard.  Beat with Cool Whip and yogurt, then add strawberries.

Options and Tips
  • This recipe is easily doubled.
  • You can also use frozen strawberries in place of the fresh.  Thaw, then drain the thawed strawberries VERY well or your salad will be runny.

I got this recipe from my sister-in-law, Michelle Hoekstra.  I made some alterations to the original.
